Unfair Commercial Practices Act...

The new act takes affect across all EU Member States, meaning consumers are protected where ever they go within Europe.

Introduces the idea of treating consumers fairly in all member states. The idea behind this act is to catch all bad trading which each EU State member's own legislation doesn't cover.

Specificly the new Directive will force businesses to not mislead consumers through acts or omissions; or even subhect them to aggressive commercial practices such as high pressure selling. The directive also protects those most vulnerable consumers who are often the easiest targets for unscrupulous businesses.

The wide scope of this new directive means it covers all areas of business and therefore already overlaps many existing UK Laws fortunatly though this will now plug the gaps in UK Legislation, just as it will in all other EU Member States.
